Ichiro Suzuki is not letting his teammates on the Seattle Mariners drag him down

36-year old lefty swinging RF Ichiro Suzuki keeps rolling along for the Mariners. He has played in 131 games this season for the Mariners and he is 167 of 542 (.308 avg, .751 OPS) with 59 runs scored, 5 homers, 34 RBIs and 34 stolen bases. This will be his second season in a row with less than 100 runs scored unless he can get 41 of them the rest of the way which is doubtful. He scored 100+ runs in each of his first 8 years with the Mariners. Ichiro will need 33 hits the rest of the season, which he is more than capable of, to have at least 200 hits in each of his first ten years in the majors which is a awesome feat. Ichiro has now played in 1,557 games in his 10 years with the Mariners and he is 2,197 of 6,641 (.331 avg, .807 OPS) with 1,032 runs scored, 89 homers, 549 RBIs and 375 stolen bases.

Ichiro did his job, getting on base. The rest just couldn’t deliver. What a waste. Might as well go all the way for 200 hits, and after that try to hit home runs so he doesn’t have to rely on Figgins to send him towards home.
