The Mariners have signed 27-year old lefty swinging 2B/SS Tug Hulett to a minor league deal. Hulett played in 86 games in AAA-ball this year for the Red Sox and he was 57 of 284 (.201 avg, .659 OPS) with 38 runs scored, 4 homers, 29 RBIs and 6 stolen bases. He has played in 45 games in parts of two years in the majors (2008 with Seattle being one of them) and he is 13 of 67 (.194 avg, .524 OPS) with 6 runs scored, 1 homer and 3 RBIs. The Mariners might give Hulett a chance in September if he shows anything in the minors in the next two weeks.

I agree with you Floyd. But the Mariners waved the White Flag long ago so don’t expect them to bring in any high priced talent until the winter.
