Brandon Morrow has been dominating for the Seattle Mariners this season
Improved control has made Brandon Morrow a dominant reliever for the Mariners. Morrow has replaced the injured J.J. Putz as the Mariners’ closer and he’s been lights out. Morrow has pitched in 30 games for the Mariners this season and he is 1-1 with 6 saves, a 0.67 ERA and a 0.79 WHIP. He has only allowed 13 hits in 26.2 innings this season for the Mariners while whiffing 37 batters. But the key to his success has been his improved control as he has only walked 8 batters this season. As long as he keeps throwing strikes Morrow will be a dominant reliever for the Mariners.
