The Seattle Mariners decline Chris Reitsma’s option for 2008
This should come as no surprise as the Mariners know darn well that Reitsma isn’t worth the $2.7 million dollar option year in his contract. Reitsma pitched in 26 games last season for the Mariners and he was 0-2 with a 7.61 ERA and a 1.94 WHIP. Reitsma has now worked in 338 games (53 starts) in his major league career and he has a 32-46 record with 37 saves with a 4.70 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP.
